Maarten van Hemsbergen
Founder & Managing Partner
Maarten (1962) holds an MBA from Erasmus University Rotterdam and began his career at ABN AMRO Bank. He later joined MeesPierson, where he gained extensive international experience in Trade & Commodity Finance, working with large corporates and bank subsidiaries in CIS countries including Ukraine and Uzbekistan. He subsequently co-developed the Merchant Banking / Corporate Finance department at Van Lanschot Bank, which received multiple awards for its leading role in M&A, Structured Finance, and Private Equity.
Following Van Lanschot’s decision to discontinue its advisory activities, Maarten founded Navarre Corporate Finance. Since then, he has continued to advise entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, family offices, and investors on mid-market transactions (€5–100 million), working with a dedicated team of partners and associates. He has also served as interim CFO on several strategic projects, including a €200+ million real estate development in Luxembourg and the restructuring of a €50+ million credit facility.
In addition, Maarten serves as a non-executive board member and strategic advisor to a number of companies and institutions.
Menno van Rees Vellinga
Associate Partner
Menno (1960) holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from Leiden University and brings over 25 years of experience in strategy, restructuring, and corporate advisory roles. He began his career at Royal Ahold and subsequently worked in business development across Central Europe and international trade from Vienna and Rotterdam.
After five years as a strategy consultant with Boer & Croon, Menno co-founded LRV Strategy, where he served as partner for 11 years, advising corporates and investors on strategic transformation and restructuring assignments. As an independent advisor, he was nominated Best Restructuring Advisor in 2014.
Menno’s areas of expertise include Retail, International Trade, Food Ingredients, Private Equity, and Pharmaceutical Retail. He is fluent in Dutch, German, and English, and conversational in French.
Theo de Raad
Ambassador
Theo de Raad brings extensive international leadership experience in the food and non-food retail sector. He held senior executive roles at SHV Makro N.V., where he served as CEO, at Metro AG as a member of the Corporate Executive Board responsible for the Metro/Makro cash-and-carry division, and at Royal Ahold N.V. as a member of the Executive Board with responsibility for Asia and Latin America.
Throughout his career, Theo has led the development of innovative retail operations, managed diverse wholesale and retail formats across multiple markets, and played a key role in acquisitions, mergers, and divestments. He has extensive experience working with international joint ventures and advising on strategic decisions related to the establishment, growth, repositioning, and sale of businesses.
Theo serves on several Supervisory Boards, including two listed companies, and has built a strong and influential network across the Benelux and internationally. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from Tilburg University and is a member of the Advisory Board of Navarre Corporate Finance.
Peter van Bommel
Senior Financial Advisor
Peter van Bommel (1962) holds a CPA qualification from NIVRA/Tilburg University and began his career at Paardekooper & Hoffman (now Mazars), followed by several regional accounting firms where he was involved in the audit of mid-sized companies across a range of industries.
In 1993, he joined ISCO, a manufacturer of metal components, as Controller and became CEO in 2001 following a management buyout. During his tenure, he led multiple strategic initiatives, including restructuring programs, acquisitions and divestments, and the relocation of operations from the Netherlands to Turkey.
Since 2008, Peter has been active as an independent interim finance executive, supporting companies in CFO and controller roles, M&A transactions, restructuring assignments, and strategic advisory and coaching engagements.
Holger Breukink
M&A Partner
Holger (1982) is an entrepreneur and investor with a track record in building and scaling digital consumer businesses. He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Twente and obtained a Master’s degree in Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics from Delft University of Technology. He also completed the five-year officer training at the Royal Netherlands Military Academy.
Holger was founder and Managing Director of Knaek B.V., a student discount platform in the Netherlands and Belgium, where he led the development and scaling of the business and its digital infrastructure.
In addition, he founded several ventures, including Eindsprint Examentrainingen, Qurc Amsterdam and Jopp. He served on the supervisory boards of EindSprint Examentrainingen B.V., a leading provider of exam training in the Netherlands, and Affiliate Marketing Group B.V., where he was involved in company strategy development and its successful sale in 2022.
Holger was also co-founder of Bangalore Invest B.V., an investment vehicle focused on early-stage companies. He was actively involved in sourcing, evaluating and managing investments, and in supporting entrepreneurs with their growth strategies.
Holger gained experience in entrepreneurship, digital business models and M&A-related processes, including growth strategy and transaction support.
Eric Martens
Senior Real Estate Advisor
Eric Martens (1962) holds a BSc in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Master’s degree in Real Estate from the University of Amsterdam. He began his career at KPN and Berenschot before joining Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in 2001.
At JLL, Eric served as team manager and director, leading the development of multiple service lines across advisory, management services, and corporate markets. He also acted as client relationship manager for several major accounts at both national and European levels. In 2010, he joined the Dutch Management Board and was appointed statutory director of several Dutch and international JLL holding companies. In addition to his executive roles, he served as Chairman of the Dutch RICS Board and as a non-executive board member of a not-for-profit affordable housing fund.
Since 2014, Eric has been active as an independent advisor in the real estate sector. He currently leads a national initiative to establish a Dutch property value registry and is involved with redevelopment projects as advisor, manager, and investor alongside distressed funds and opportunistic investors. Eric has deep knowledge of the Dutch real estate market and is widely recognized as a trusted strategic advisor.
Geo Wehry

Geo (1965) is an experienced executive recruiter and leadership coach specializing in board-level and managing director appointments for corporates, asset managers, and private equity investors.
He began his career as a commodity trader before joining merchant bank MeesPierson, where he managed international financial exposures related to commodity transactions in Southeast Asia and later became part of the bank’s first Leveraged Finance team, advising on a number of landmark financing structures.
In 2000, Geo co-founded an executive search boutique focused on Asset Management and Investment Banking, marking the start of his long-standing role as a trusted advisor to senior executives and investors. He subsequently led his own boutique in Geneva and later served as Senior Partner at a global executive search firm.
Geo supports Navarre Corporate Finance on executive recruitment and leadership advisory assignments and advises SDG-focused investment funds on capital raising from individual investors and family offices.
Floor Breeman
Senior Real Estate Advisor
Floor Breeman (1980) holds an MBA from the University of Groningen. He began his career as a management trainee at ABN AMRO Bank, focusing on SME clients across a range of industries and working on several complex real estate transactions.
After three years, Floor moved to the shipping sector in Rotterdam, joining Stolt-Nielsen S.A., where he worked in the chartering division. In 2012, following several years as a member of the Supervisory Board of Vecom Group, he joined the family-owned business in an executive role. Vecom Group is an international specialist in metal surface treatment, serving clients in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Food, Pharma, and Maritime sectors.
Starting in the Maritime division, Floor introduced a modernized business model and subsequently identified broader strategic opportunities across the group. He later served as Commercial Director and Managing Director, leading the implementation of a renewed strategy, operating model, and international growth initiatives. He stepped down from his executive role in 2018.
Floor has been active in international family business networks since 2007 and joined Navarre Corporate Finance in 2018 as an industry expert. His areas of expertise include industrial services, maritime, international business development, family-owned enterprises, and real estate.
He is fluent in Dutch, German, and English, and conversational in Spanish.
Gerard van Kaathoven

Gerard van Kaathoven (1957) graduated from the Royal Military Academy in the Netherlands and began his career in 1980 at Bank Mees & Hope (now MeesPierson). In 1996, he joined Rabobank International as Head of the Global Media & Telecommunications Group.
In 2001, Gerard was appointed to the Executive Board of DLL Group (De Lage Landen International), a wholly owned subsidiary of Rabobank, where he was responsible for all European activities. In 2007, he joined Allianz as CEO of Euler Hermes Netherlands, United Kingdom & Ireland (now Allianz Trade). In 2015, he became Head of Group Projects, Business Development & Partnerships, where he led several strategic initiatives, including the divestment of Allianz Trade’s shareholdings in two leading international business-to-business information companies.
In 2019, Gerard founded Trade Cover Exchange, a digital platform for single-transaction credit insurance. He currently acts as an independent advisor on strategy and trade-related financial solutions.
His areas of expertise include business strategy, non-executive board roles, business coaching, innovation and transformation, trade credit insurance, vendor leasing, letters of credit, documentary collections, and surety structures.
Lars Verweij
Analyst
Lars (2001) holds a degree in Business Administration from Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda. During his studies, he founded his own company and served as Vice Chairman of an international foundation.
As an entrepreneur, Lars gained experience in marketing and communications, which he now brings to his role as an Analyst at Navarre Corporate Finance. He supports transaction processes through research, analysis, and preparation of client materials.
Lars is known for his accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong focus on delivering reliable and high-quality support across projects.
